Back to School DealsLooking for back to school deals? You’ve come to the right place! How do you find the best deals on school supplies when summer starts to fade and the sound of the school bell is fast approaching?

Just don’t forget with all that money you are going to save, allow your child to splurge on one or two items that they love – a new backpack, [easyazon_link asin=”B00EKY42XS” locale=”US” new_window=”default” nofollow=”default” tag=”webnavigatorg-20″ add_to_cart=”default” cloaking=”default” localization=”default” popups=”default”]fashionable pencil case[/easyazon_link], [easyazon_link asin=”B00CRWQW2O” locale=”US” new_window=”default” nofollow=”default” tag=”webnavigatorg-20″ add_to_cart=”default” cloaking=”default” localization=”default” popups=”default”]cool lunch tote[/easyazon_link], or a [easyazon_link asin=”B00GKKABRG” locale=”US” new_window=”default” nofollow=”default” tag=”webnavigatorg-20″ add_to_cart=”default” cloaking=”default” localization=”default” popups=”default”] fun locker decorating kit.[/easyazon_link] Trust me … you’ll earn some mommy bonus points for that!!

Now, let’s get to my top 5 saving tips …

1) Shop early! Nothing saves you more money than finding a good deal. The earlier you can get those lists of required school supplies, the more money you will save. Those great $.01 deals are usually for the early shoppers. Many of the big box stores, like Walmart, will even have your child’s required school supply list readily available in their back to school shopping aisles. Also, remember the best deals and the coveted supplies go fast!

2) Buy in bulk. You know that one pack of your daughter’s favorite pens, that she has to have to write with, is not going to last her the whole year. When you find a deal, stock up. In our home, I keep a box from IKEA in a closet with supplies that I stocked up on when the getting was good!

3) No substitutes! And, I don’t mean substitute teachers … when you have your school supply list in hand from your child’s teacher, it can be so easy to want to sub a cheaper brand rather than the name brand given for a supply. Don’t do it … many times those items will not be accepted. If you think the substitution might be o.k., be sure to hold on to your receipt. It won’t be a deal if you end up having to keep the item you bought and buy the correct item to send in to the school. Again, another reason to shop early – even name brand items can be had for great prices earlier in the school supply shopping season. Or, if you are tried of running from store to store for that name brand box of watercolor markers – that sold out weeks ago – try your luck online. I absolutely love  Amazon for the ease of one click ordering and having everything arrive on my doorstep just two days later, just one of the reasons I am a proud affiliate.

4) School uniforms … you either love them or hate them! Either way, remember to shop around – don’t limited to just your school’s “preferred vendor”. Many basic items can be found at Land’s End or even Target, during the back to school season. Also, many private schools hold uniform sales – where families can resell their uniform pieces that are still in great used condition.

5) Do you homeschool or attend a private school on a different start back schedule? If you do, you have another way to save … you can take advantage of all those clearance sales at the end of the buying season. Now, the aisles and aisles of supplies or the ten different types of scissors will not still be available but, what does remain will more than likely be offered at deep discounts. Those stores have to clear that space for all the holiday items that they must get out.

Do you have any back to school deals you would like to share?
