My good friend, Molly Brandenburg, who is one of those multipotentialite moms that seems to have every artistic corner covered, has just launched her humorous cat cartoons on a website called fineartamerica.com.
If you haven’t heard of Molly, she is an amazingly talented artist, singer, cartoonist, writer, and Mom here in Los Angeles, California, but with a global cat-following. Her cartoons have been published all over the web including her most recent stint on the popular Houzz.com site.
Molly also has a darling book out on Amazon called The Truth About Cats: Notes From The Feline Underbelly
Anyway, back to fineartamerica.com. It’s an international site that you can join that’s a great resource for fine artists to sell and promote their art. They offer artists an opportunity to put their art in front of a much wider audience and to sell it on a print on demand basis.
The best part about it… it’s FREE!
Yup, you can join for free and start uploading your images right away. You can also can join at the premium membership for around $30 bucks a year where you can create your own hosted website, and get access to many other cool promotional features.
So far, Molly has been really happy with the platform. She says it has really easy user interface and is very “doable.” One friend needed to her help her upload some of her drawings, but once it was up an running any additional changes she has needed to make were a piece of cake.
If you have any questions about the site, Molly says they have a really responsive support staff that get back to you right away. No 48 hour support ticket cues.
Here’s to “no more starving artists”, too! Let’s get our artists fed, and well rested with the relief of knowing they can have their art for sell online all over the world 24/7. Wouldn’t be nice to wake up and see a few more dollars in your pocket? Get your art up there, and start building a history with Google. If there is one thing I have learned, it is to “just do it.” It seems to take about a month for those Google bots to scan sites so what are you waiting for?
Start building your own online site selling art with a following. I’d suggest building a vehicle for future sales right away.
