best fathers day gift ideasFather’s Day is JUST around the corner…so close that if you want to have something shipped, you’d best order it today.

What are some of the things we’re going gaga for?

Sporty Dad

Sure you could get him sports equipment, but I am betting he’s picky. Unless you know EXACTLY what he wants, try something like a gift certificate for a round of golf, several new cans of tennis balls or a “coupon” for a “Free” morning fishing.

Or, maybe he wants to try geocaching with the kids? Here’s a cool GPS.

Chef Dad

Find a new cookbook, a certificate for cooking lessons or some cool BBQ tools.

Thinks-He’s-A-Chef Dad

[easyazon-image align=”right” asin=”B0046XRQM2″ locale=”us” height=”160″ src=”” width=”160″]Sorry, couldn’t resist. Does he burn those burgers every time? This BBQ thermometer beeps when the meat is getting well done. Put down the beer and flip the burgers, dad!

And who wouldn’t love a pigs-in-the-blanket maker?

Music Dad

Get him concert tickets; a box set of his favorite artist or that old standby: an iTunes card.

Gadget Dad

Boring, but useful: everyone can use another charger. The Juice box will give him an extra charge on the go.

Does he love outdoor parties? Nothing says “Party on” like the Block Rocker where he can dock his iPod and play his tunes for anyone who wants to listen!

Fashionista Dad

[easyazon-image align=”right” asin=”B005GCMUN2″ locale=”us” height=”160″ src=”” width=”160″]These cufflinks give him tons of choices.

Or this martini tie is still classy, yet a fun switch from boring striped ties.

And does your guy like to be groomed? One word: Kiehl’s.

Silly Dad

Nothing says fun like a marshmallow shooter!

[easyazon-image align=”right” asin=”B00077FCT0″ locale=”us” height=”160″ src=”” width=”160″]Unless it’s a Nerf gun.

Or a Super Soaker – this one makes the water ice cold! (Better get one for the kids too!)

Hard to Buy For Dad

You hate to do it…but you’re all happy in the end! You haven’t wasted time and money shopping, just to see your gift languish. And he gets exactly what he wants!

[easyazon-image align=”right” asin=”B009T8O8HK” locale=”us” height=”102″ src=”” width=”160″]Yep, it’s the gift card store!

Here are thousands of sections, whether he wants to go out to dinner, or shopping, or the movies, or just sit and game.

What’s on your list?! Help a sister out…..share an idea and a link! Would love to hear your ideas for Father’s Day gifts in the comments below!

Great suggestions! I am going to have to start thinking of some things. Audio books are a big hit sometimes for playing to and from work. Or personalized tee shirts with sometime cute

Oooh-yes, audio books- great idea! Personalized tee are always fun, too.

Thanks for the great tips, you always have wonderful suggestions!
Also, there is the outdoor dad – REI, A16 & Patagonia. Or the coffee loving dad – a new travel coffee mug with a coffee gift card inside or a lb. of coffee (try a new flavor dad). Best – Kari

Yes, of course there is “Outdoor Dad” and “Coffee Dad”- ha! How could I forget! Thanks so much for reminding me. Must add it to the list!

This is the place to go when dumbfounded about what to get your dad this year for Dad’s Day! Really cool, unique gift suggestions, Laura! My favorite is the marshmallow shooter ;-)!

Don’t you just love the “marshmallow shooter”? Such a cool gift idea!

My dad loves sports but doesn’t play any more but the thing he does the most is farm and stay outdoors so don’t forget the farming dads. This year I got him a Braves umbrella/poncho set and will also get him a giftcard to either Bass Pro or Lowe’s or the Tractor Supply store. I hate to just get him giftcards but a little something with a giftcard always seems right. Another idea is a something of the month gift. Last year I got him a club gift for 6 months. He got popcorn, cookies, jerky, BBQ sauce, hot sauce and pasta/sauce. It was fun and he really enjoyed getting different stuff each month.

Monica, those are great ideas! My dad is actually just like your dad and would love all those ideas- except for maybe the Braves poncho- ha! He would have to make a substitution team there!

I have a super difficult father in law to buy for. Whatever he wants, he’ll get himself, so this year we are getting him a care package for our large family trip to Hawaii next month. He’ll get a sun shirt, sun hat, sun protection lip balm, sun block and a microfiber towel for the beach! Now to get it in the mail- TODAY!!

Laura Wallis June 14, 2013 at 1:06 am

Great idea! My Father-in-law would love that, too. Heading off to the post office, as well today!
